    The price of solar panels has dropped over 70% since 2010 alone. This has made it possible for solar providers to provide fixed rate Power-Purchase Agreements (PPAs) to homeowners at zero down payment. These PPAs are priced cheaper to the price paid by consumers to utilities (not to mention the other benefits of going green)- potentially saving them lakhs of rupees over the life cycle of 25 years.

    That being said, awareness about solar and its financing options is severely limited-…

These PPAs are priced cheaper to the price paid by consumers to utilities (not to mention the other benefits of going green)- potentially saving them lakhs of rupees over the life cycle of 25 years.

    That being said, awareness about solar and its financing options is severely limited- especially in India. Most people are only aware of outright buy (with loan) options. Awareness for PPAs (or leases) is lacking. What makes PPAs more attractive than loans:
    ? Zero down-payment, no collateral required
    ? O&M taken care of by solar provider
    ? Paperwork and legal hassles taken care of by solar provider

    SolarSaver allows you to calculate your potential annual and lifetime savings by opting for a zero-down payment PPA (as compared to buying from utilities).

    I built this using React.js and hosted it via Firebase.
